Space heating

Considering the heating system as a part of the energy study of the building, one can examine the following classes of heating systems:

a) Fast response systems: considered to be mainly the air heating systems and to a certain degree the water heating systems, operating at high temperatures (between 70 and 90oC) and utilising the radiation and convection of the heating panels.

b) Slow response systems, which are mainly the water heating systems operating at low temperatures (40-45oC), like under-floor system.

c) Surface radiation heating systems, like heated ceilings or heat accumulators - emitters. These systems are not met frequently, except in small buildings and in countries where electricity is very cheap compared to other energy sources.
