The following guidelines should provide efficient sun shading to a building: The designer should keep the solar radiation off the opaque solid elements of the building's envelopewhere possible. Special care should be taken to shade the windows to reduce the incoming heat and the risk of overheating. Fixed or movable sunshading devices or even an appropriate combination and arrangement of them can be used to give the most efficient solar protection. Movable shading controlled by the inhabitants is generally a good solution. |
